【Beginning】
As Dodo grew, he acquired most of the Druid’s knowledge and mastered the skills, except for the penguin-morphing skill. The Penguin Druid thought it was the right time to let Dodo learn about his past, so she brought him back to where he was born, in hopes that from knowing his past could he clear his mind and learn to put down his hatred. She believed it was the only way for Dodo to truly grow as a Druid and master the penguin-morphing skill.
Fate is cruel. Demons once annihilated everything dear to Dodo, creating intense hatred in the young child’s heart. But under fate’s arrangements, the hatred-filled Dodo met a drowning Demon girl one day. Seeing the girl’s sinking figure, Dodo was caught in a dilemma: his hatred made him hesitate about saving her, but his kind nature pushed him forward.
At the critical moment, Dodo dived into the water and his determination to save the girl allowed him to successfully morph into a penguin.
It was his first time turning into a penguin, so he was not familiar with controlling his penguin limbs. He strained to swim to safety while holding the girl. When they reached the sea’s surface, Dodo pushed the girl onto land before dashing out of the water. He performed first aid treatment using his penguin wings, but the shape of the wings were inconvenient to press water out of her belly.
Dodo focused his mind and kept telling himself to morph back into Human. As he pictured his Human form, his limbs gradually changed back. A while later, the girl spat water from her mouth, but had not regained her consciousness yet.
【Before Battles】
Having no idea about how to restore her to life, Dodo could only bring the girl back to the Druid.
He carried her on his back and quickly slid on the ice, heading to the Druid's igloo.
【End】
- Dodo: Teacher! Help her!
- Penguin Druid: Wait outside. I’ll call for you later.
Dodo and all the penguins waited outside the Druid’s igloo. After a long time, the Penguin Druid finally poked her head out and told Dodo to come in and take a look. Dodo entered the igloo and saw the girl, who was wrapped in bandages, was sound asleep, indicating that she was safe.
- Penguin Druid: Now I’ll go search for herbs edible for Demons. Her body is weak.
- Penguin Druid: Please take care of her while I’m gone.
Dodo watched as the Druid’s figure vanished into the horizon before he went back to the Druid’s igloo. He sat beside the girl and observed her. For someone who has never seen a Demon before, Dodo was curious and was surprised to see that these cold-blooded murderers did not look that much different from Humans.
Just then, he heard the girl murmuring, “Water...” Dodo smiled and walked outside, planning to melt some ice into water for her. At that moment, he thought that perhaps not all Demons are bad.
However, when he returned with a bowl of water, the girl was already awake and crouching next to a penguin which was injured and bleeding. Filled with anger, Dodo dropped the bowl and channeled the power of nature, condensing the water in the air surrounding the girl into ice before shooting the chips of ice at her.
- Dodo: You Demon! Go away! You’re not welcome here, evil monsters!
Dodo incessantly shot ice shards at the Demon; the girl was scared and ran away crying. When she completely disappeared from sight, Dodo furiously punched the ground and walked to the penguin to check on its condition...
