【Beginning】
Thetis could only accept the fact that Achilles had chosen to become a soldier. After all, Gods could not arbitrarily intervene with the affairs of the realm of Humans; creating Achilles was already on the limit of interference with regards to the law.^ ^ Nevertheless, Thetis was worried that there might be unexpected happenings coming her way. To avoid such interludes in her plan, Thetis frequently checked on Achilles.
Achilles’ extraordinary valor and fighting abilities granted him the chance to succeed the general’s position faster than anyone could have ever imagined.^ ^ When it was the first time for Achilles to lead the army, he was clouded by arrogance, and did not take his enemies seriously —
- Achilles: I’ll take care of the leaders. You guys finish the useless trash here.
With that said, Achilles charged into the sea of soldiers. The enemies had no intentions of stopping him and instead, moved aside in fear and created a road which enabled Achilles to dash straight into the center of their camp, where their leader was located.
- Achilles: Humph. What a bunch of chickens!
Witnessing the enemy soldiers’ fearful expressions, Achilles recalled how his soldiers looked at him the same way, prompting him to think that the enemies were weak. This prideful arrogance had led him straight into the enemies’ trap.
Just as Achilles was about to launch an attack at the enemies’ leader, three rows of shielded soldiers dashed between them, and a rain of arrows fell down upon Achilles! The enemy leader had long prepared this arrow trap, awaiting Achilles’ arrival.
【Before Battles】
- Achilles: Darn! Phalanx! Protect the front row of soldiers!
【Enemy Dialog】
- Thetis the Savant of Rules: ‘Son, be careful!’
【End】
Merciless arrows plummeted down from the air. Just as one was about to hit Achilles’ back, Thetis hurriedly blocked it with her godly power. Eventually, with the help of Thetis, Achilles easily decapitated the enemy leader, and earned his first victory as a general.
Thetis was overly focused on Achilles’ wars. She stealthily helped him win numerous wars, one after another; he became known as the invincible warlord. However, her actions gradually attracted another God’s attention —
- Savant of Snow: Savant of Rules, have you been focusing a lot on that Human hero recently?
- Savant of Snow: I can see that your power has declined. Could it be linked with the hero you are watching?
- Thetis the Savant of Rules: Savant of Snow! I clearly know that we cannot arbitrarily intervene with the affairs of the realm of Humans.
- Savant of Snow: Relax. I am not saying that you have violated any rules. My question was not meant to be offensive.
Thetis could not let the other Gods know that Achilles was actually her son. To avoid being suspected, Thetis could only leave Achilles for a while, letting him fight to his heart’s desires.
