【Beginning】
- Elder: In the past, your father had sworn an oath for the tribe’s prosperity.
- Elder: And he fulfilled it.
- Elder: Thor, take the hammer and swear an oath.
- Elder: It will respond to you with lightning.
Thor was at a loss. He asked his friend for help. The boy nodded to him firmly and supported his arm so that he could lift up the hammer. The weight of the hammer was so heavy that it seemed to be pressing Thor down onto the ground.
The sky had turned dark, when the candlelight on the boat slowly faded into the distance on the mirror of the starry sky. It was so hard for Thor that his face turned red. He had never thought about giving an oath. He raised his head strenuously and looked up. In the sky filled with countless stars, he saw his friend supporting him to hold the hammer. Straining to hold it high, he blurted out an oath.
- Thor: I shall be strong, as indestructible as the Divine Hammer!
The Divine Hammer recognized his oath and it summoned a thunderbolt which struck the pyre and set fire to it. As the horn sounded, the tribesmen shouted the names of Mjölnir and Thor. The elder said to him contentedly,
- Elder: When you reach manhood, you’ll inherit the position to be the Chief.
‘I will not.’ Thor, the God of Thunder, finally voiced his answer that had long been hiding in his heart since childhood. Standing on a boulder in the deserted lands, he gazed at the broken Enochian Tower, perched in the distance. Thor had reached the age to inherit the position as Chief, but he decided not to accept the appointment of the elder. His memories remained frozen in his childhood. from the moment that the elder had asked him to swear the oath.
Surprised, everyone in the tribe stared at Thor. Since the child Thor swore his oath to the hammer, the tribesmen had recognized him as inheritor of the Chief.
- Thor: Odin, only you can lead us.
Thor pushed his friend behind him to the front to face the crowd. It was Odin, who had supported him to hold the hammer and encouraged him to swear the oath in that starry night. Thor said to everyone firmly, only this man could bring victory to the tribe.
- Thor: I'm just a warrior, but Odin can be a great leader for us.
Thor put down the hammer. When he was ready to give it to Odin, Odin thrust his spear towards him.
【Before Battles】
- Odin the Knight of Runes: Thor, you’re the valiant warrior in the tribe.
- Odin the Knight of Runes: If you think you’re weaker than me,
- Odin the Knight of Runes: then let me pierce you through with my spear.
- Thor: Odin, do we really have to do this?
【After Battles】
- Thor: Odin, although you’re yet to be a match for me,
- Thor: when it comes to the fight against Demons,
- Thor: what we need are your profound wisdom and insights.
- Thor: Prosperity can never be brought to the tribe with only brute force.
【End】
Odin accepted the position to be the Chief of the tribe, but he refused to take away the Divine Hammer in Thor’s hands. He allowed Thor to fight with the hammer, so that Thor was still the Chief of Aesir nominally, while he regarded himself as the performer of the duties.
