【Beginning】
Tefnut arrived at an exquisite lake that seemed to have beckoned for her. The cool water in the lake comforted her; and the mysterious power within enchanted her. One day, she found a glittering gem under the lake. At the time, she did not know that the gem contained Ancestral Elements. She merely sensed a power originating from the gem surged into her body, running throughout. From that day onwards, she could stand on two feet and speak Human languages.
Excited to have experienced such a change, Tefnut could not wait to demonstrate it. She openly walked into a city, and witnessed all fleeing at the sight of her. She had forgotten that she was half-cat half-Human, not a complete one of either, so she failed to understand why the Humans were scared.
Just then, she felt as if someone was approaching, and the sight that she saw when she turned startled her. A crowd approached, nets in hand, frightening her into running. At the moment, the weather experienced a shift, as rain took the place of the sun.
Tefnut dashed forward without looking back. She jumped on walls, and crossed dark alleys like she had done when she was still a cat. However, she still could not shake them and instead, the number of pursuers increased! Almost entirely encircled, Tefnut could feel panic overwhelming her. The rain became heavier as if it manifested Tefnut’s mood. Finally, Tefnut was trapped in a dead-end with pursuers closing in with bats and nets...
【Enemy Dialog】
- Trapper: Hurry! Hem it in! Don’t let it get away!
- Tefnut: Don’t come any closer! Leave me alone!
【End】
A gigantic net dropped onto Tefnut, snatching away her freedom. The more she struggled, the tighter the net wrapped. When the Humans cheered their successful capture, the sky and Tefnut herself cried desperate tears.
She was later sold to a circus. Since the circus crew knew she could speak, stand, and walk like a Human, they ordered her to pretend to be Human in her performances. If Tefnut refused, she would be whipped. Freedom had left her, and she felt the power she had was little different from a curse...
Depressed, she felt her life was hopeless. She had never thought that during one of her performances, incessant rain would cause nearby rivers to flood, bringing rush waters to their camp. Panic-stricken, the audience started fleeing; the circus crew, too busy claiming fees for the show or packing their valuables, was distracted and paid no attention to her. Tefnut seized the opportunity to escape.
Since her enslavement by the circus, it had been a long time since she had roamed freely on all four legs. The farther she ran from the terrifying place, the calmer she became. No longer occupied by the thought of escaping, Tefnut finally realized that the rain had stopped. All the dark clouds broke; the sky had finally become clear again.
