【Beginning】
- Young Osiris: How’re you? Why do you look so sad?
- Young Osiris: Don’t cry. Everything’s gonna be fine. Let’s play together, all right?
Although Osiris was in the room, sitting on the floor alone, it seemed like he was talking to someone. His parents looked at him worriedly from outside the room. Since his birth, he had always been able to see what others could not see.
As he grew, he even gained the ability to communicate with these “things”. At first, his parents thought he had hallucinations; but gradually they found out that Osiris could really get in touch with “something”, because he would always spurt details of something which he should not have known.
One day, after Osiris had gone to school, his parents hid a book that he had long wanted in his drawer, as a surprise for him. However, the moment Osiris returned home, he already knew of both his parents’ present for him, and even its location. Questioned by his parents, Osiris said that “someone” had told him about this. His parents was shocked; after all, only two of them were in the room when they were putting the book in the drawer.
From then on, Osiris’ parents firmly believed that their son could get in touch with something that ordinary people could not see or hear. Therefore, they invited numerous people who claimed to be skilled in exorcism, in hopes of saving their beloved son...
【Enemy Dialog】
With their tranquility disrupted, the souls of the deceased rose anxiously, causing great commotion. Then, as Osiris returned home from school, he heard the groans of the souls, he hurriedly rushed forward to stop the exorcists.
- Young Osiris: Stop it! Can't you see their pain?
【End】
With opposition from Osiris, the exorcists were forced to stop. Everyone stared perplexedly at Osiris. Panting, he ignored their gazes and focused solely upon soothing the souls’ agony.
- Young Osiris: Are you alright? Feeling better now?
In his eyes, he was tenderly consoling the souls in front of him; but in the eyes of the others, he was just talking to air and then smiling in relief. The absurdity of the scene was not lost on those present. Even Osiris himself did not know that he had been chosen by the souls of the deceased to bear the mission of guiding them.
To ensure that a beacon would continue to shine in their dark road, the souls granted Osiris immortality. But for Osiris, this was actually a never-ending curse — he had to witness his loved ones dying, one after another, while he himself had an unending life. As time passed, he gradually realized that he had an innate mission. Thus, he had to embark on a journey in search of his calling.
At last, from the soul of a sage, he found out the stories behind all — including why he was chosen by the souls of the deceased, and why they would not tolerate his death...
