【Beginning】
Inside a castle the floor was strewn with dead. A floating melog hit its fist hard on the gate, behind which moans of begging for mercy were heard. The demons listening on the side sighed:
- Withered Savant: I guess he does not have the vessel. If it’s really been taken into the forest...
- Withered Savant: Elements fuse with one another and metamorphose too easily in nature.
- Withered Savant: The magic sphere must possess some unknown power already.
- Withered Savant: Let’s see how far it has grown.
The Demon savant and the melog left the devastated castle behind, dashing into the mysterious forest.

Yvette defeated melog with much difficulty. Spreading powder from her scales into the air, she attempted to control her opponent with the power of light sphere. But the Demon savant took out a stone which absorbed all the flickers of light into it and even took away some power from the light sphere. Yvette hurriedly held it close to her.
- Yvette the Butterfly: How come-
- Withered Savant: Look, it’s more stable now.
The savant stuck the stone onto the melog. As the light within it was transferred into the melog’s body, its damage was repaired. Melog stretched its vast palm towards Yvette again, but she could no longer resist as she was burnt out in the last fight.
- Withered Savant: For you have offered me some nice data...
- Withered Savant: ...I grant you the chance to live a little longer!
The demon savant took Yvette away and commanded her to stay beside him so he could observe the influence of light sphere on her. Yvette followed him to explore different landscape, and learned about the current situation of the world from his words.
Later on, after Withered Savant had collected sufficient test results, he no longer needed Yvette, the failed subject, and let her free...
