【Beginning】
Fafnir were created by Elder Gods as a guardian to take care of the realm for them. Another guardian called Cooper was created as well. Yet, Fafnir and Cooper’s respective personalities were polar opposites: Cooper was quiet and tender, but Fafnir was active and direct. Even the knowledge the Elder Gods shared to each of them was different.
Passionately devoted to the Elder Gods, Fafnir deeply loved the realm they had created. She was proud of her mission and hence, earnestly performed her duty. She had once loved all in the realm, but experience gradually altered her heart...
【Before Battles】
Cooper and Fafnir decided to journey the realm separately. Fafnir, who had always wanted to visit Human cities, traveled to one.
Although it was as prosperous in reality as it was in her imagination, waste and pollution also abounded.
Seeing precious resources wasted and the beautiful realm created by Elder Gods corrupted, Fafnir could not stop her tears.
【Enemy Dialog】
The citizens disposed mountains of trash at the outskirts of the city, causing irreversible pollution to the forest. Unaware of the pollution, animals continued living in the forest, thus left on the brink of death from either poison or desperate illnesses. Seeing many dying on the ground, Fafnir’s heart ached as if she had been cut.
【After Battles】
Fafnir could not bear to see the animals suffer; she could not understand why Humans acted the way they did. Therefore, she decided to leave the cities, and traveled to secluded villages. On her way, she met an injured slime. She treated its wounds and ensured it would be fine, before continuing her journey.
【End】
Fafnir eventually arrived at a small village less prosperout than the cities. The villagers merely subsisted on sparse resources. Yet, they were still self-sufficient and nicer to others. The villagers extended a warm welcome to Fafnir, who was a guest from the city. The festivities were headlined by cages of captured slimes taken from the warehouse, among which was the one Fafnir had just saved.
- Fafnir: Why have you caught them in cages? Let them go!
- Villager: Relax! There are a whole lot of these strange creatures roaming around. And you see? They won’t get hurt even if we punch them!
- Villager: Just come and give it a try. You’re gonna love this game!
No matter how Fafnir dissuaded them, the villagers paid no attention to her and instead, they dragged the slimes from their cages. The slimes suffered from numerous kicks and punches, as smiles grew brighter on the villagers’ faces. It was quite some time before they finally stopped, and dispersed. Fafnir hurriedly approached the victims of the “game”. All the slimes lay fallen on the ground, painfully writhing. Fafnir stroked their body tenderly, hoping to soothe their agitation.
The villagers left the scene of violence and continued their celebration elsewhere; Fafnir cared for the slimes that were now left in pain Sorrowful tears yet again dropped, but it was hatred that exuded from her eyes as she looked at the villagers...
