【Beginning】
- Soldier: Ah!
- Dark Archmage Endor: !
The soldier was pierced through by a Demon’s spear; the blood splashed onto Endor. She pushed the enemy aside and Duncan immediately leaped in, slaying the Demon with his spear. Duncan pulled the soldier back, inquiring for the whereabouts of Nathaniel while treating his wounds. The soldier shook his head before passing out from the blood loss.
- Druid Duncan: I will go find him in the front lines. Endor, take your forces and withdraw!
Clearing a path with his spear which could channel the forces of Mother Nature, Duncan rushed to the front. In the past, Duncan detested what he could not understand but now, he could focus on his thoughts.
The humans built the army with their lives to serve as their shield, and sacrifice as a bulwark against Gods and Demons. Yet, each shield would have a foundation; like a tree, the branches may be lost but the trunk must remain. Finally, he saw Nathaniel fighting in the front and just ahead of him, Sean and Molly were retreating back.
- Druid Duncan: With the aid of Mother Nature!
【Enemy Dialog】
- Blazing Swordsman Sean: Darn! We are surrounded!
- Blazing Swordsman Sean: We must defeat them in one swoop; break through their ranks!
【End】
In the evening, the group sat around the campfire resting to ward off fatigue. Next to the flames, Molly bandaged Sean’s wounds while chastising him for his recklessness. Nathaniel commander of the troops, was personally polishing his own armor. Endor wrapped herself in her robes and was likely also resting. Duncan, grinding up herbs, thought back to his travels with the elder, and the remarks he had made.
- Elder: ‘Herding does not equate to the control of animals.’
- Elder: ‘Herders are simply giving directions.’
- Elder: ‘We expel wolf packs and identify the locations of grasslands...’
- Elder: ‘Herders are simply the bridges between Mother Nature and the animals.’
At that time, Duncan wa still young and thought the elder was chastising him for his rough style of shepherding; he apologized hurriedly, promising not to mistreat the flock.
- Elder: ‘No, that is not enough, Duncan.’
- Elder: ‘It is not a matter of treating them well or unwell...’
- Elder: ‘As one of the lifeforms that would disturb the equilibrium,’
- Elder: ‘we have the responsibility to ensure that it would not become unbalanced.’
- Elder: ‘Look there.’
- Elder: ‘The seeds of the Dandelions are being sent on their way by the wind,’
- Elder: ‘Catching and planting the seeds in an appropriate place is not what we do;’
- Elder: ‘Instead, we should protect the trees and the mountains.’
- Elder: ‘And protect the wilderness that generates the wind.’
Later, as the battle of Gods and Demons escalates, the Druids scattered as they strived to halt the spread of chaos. Duncan was also separated from the elder as a result of conflict. Yet unexpectedly, the warmth of the campfire still reminded Duncan of these forgotten adages. Suddenly, with his hand on a damaged portion of the amor, asked with a sigh:
- Earl Nathaniel: What will this war bring to us...
- Druid Duncan: These are things your enemies will not think about, your lordship.
- Aqua Sorceress Molly: If that is the case, what would they think about?
- Dark Archmage Endor: I would think of them as being absolutely senseless.
Duncan stopped his grinding of the herbs.
- Blazing Swordsman Sean: Ow——be gentle!The wound is re-opening!
- Aqua Sorceress Molly: You deserve it! Who told you to be reckless!
- Blazing Swordsman Sean: It was actually——
- Druid Duncan: Come,Sean; drink this...
- Blazing Swordsman Sean: This remedy tastes funny...
‘The battle between gods and demons is not a part of nature, and therefore, the balance of nature has also been destroyed,’ Duncan thought to himself. ‘The continuation of the battle between Gods and Demons is not because of the Demons’ objectives, but rather, humankind’s desire for peace.’ His gaze afar, looking into the dark night that conceals the levitating half of Enochian Tower, ‘we must contain the power of Enochian Tower.’
- Elder: ‘Seeds may be carried by beasts, or fly with the wind...’
The elder’s wisdom echoed within Duncan, but yet, he still remained confused......
- Druid Duncan: ‘Enochian Tower......Is it a shepherd’s staff, or a tower that would aid the capture of fledglings in the nest?’
