【Beginning】
Endor would always read different elegiac address in the deceased’s funerary services.
- Dark Archmage Endor: For those who are praised and venerated;
- Dark Archmage Endor: for those who are missed or forgotten......
- Dark Archmage Endor: bestowed upon each casualty,
- Dark Archmage Endor: Everything is brief.
- Dark Archmage Endor: You lived within a tiny corner of the body
- Dark Archmage Endor: and was unable to harmoniously coexist with the world......
At the beginning, the soldiers remained suspicious. They thought the unorthodox Earl had finally gone mad and had been converted to a strange cult.
However, as time went on, Endor’ s support for the soldiers on the frontline through the use of dark elements won their acceptance despite appearing to enjoy the worship of the dead. Furthermore, since even the Druid on the team did not object, the soldiers disapproved of Endor no more. After the worship, the Druid asked Endor:
- Druid Duncan: You say they were unable to harmoniously coexist with the world,
- Druid Duncan: but don’t all life come from nature?
- Dark Archmage Endor: If that is the case, why are the spirits of the deceased unable to get tranquility?
- Dark Archmage Endor: The war makes it impossible for them to rest in peace......
Endor liked spending time with him even more than speaking with the spirits of the deceased. During their conversations, the Druid began describing the principles of the earth. Endor reciprocated with words spoken by the dead. To the Druid’s demonstration of earth’s power through the creation of great winds, Endor gave a smile and also channeled the power of the dark elements —
【Before Battles】
- Dark Archmage Endor: Look, like this——
【End】
- Earl Nathaniel: No, Endor. Thank you, but it would not be necessary this time.
After a certain battle, Nathaniel retrieved the broken body of his lieutenant and gave me a somber funeral. Endor was bemused and could not understand why Nathaniel would do something so pointless. She asked Sean, who happened to be standing beside her, but his only response was that the deceased was a warrior worthy of respect. Endor had wanted to ask in more detail, but was halted by Duncan.
- Druid Duncan: We offer prayer in this manner as we can’t connect with the world of the dead.
- Dark Archmage Endor: Prayer?
- Druid Duncan: A wish that all spirits of the deceased would find a safe refuge.
They silently mourned the death of the lieutenant. It was only then that Endor realized how unique she was as she could hear the words spoken by the spirits of the deceased since she was young whereas others could only see the corpse.
Death has created a barrier between the spirits and those still alive. To show their respect, those living can only treat the bodies with reverence. Endor turned to leave, climbing up the mountain with queries for the spirits of the deceased. They told her that the blessed spirits were flying towards Holylight city.
When Endor returned to her companions, she was asked by Molly whether she had discovered anything. Astounded by what Endor heard from the spirits, Molly stared at the spot where Endor was looking but could not see anything. She asked:
- Aqua Sorceress Molly: The soldiers keep saying that they are ‘blessed by the glorious light’......
- Aqua Sorceress Molly: Is that true?
Endor only shook her hand in response. By her side, the spirits of the deceased wailed their accusations; they complained of abandonment, betrayal and, loss of their homes. From those who died hundreds to those who died thousands of years ago, these spirits of the deceased were those who had not been blessed and was no longer able to connect with anything......Endor could finally understand the reason behind their sorrow.
- Dark Archmage Endor: ‘Don’t cry. I will bring you home.’
