【Beginning】
Athena’s priests were all females, adorned in white robes and laurel wreaths. Every few years the old priests would pick maidens from the city to be their successors, as well as the spokespeople of the Goddess.
One year, another group of maiden were old enough to succeed to the duty. The servant guided the maiden to the inner hall; while the chamber was flanked by priests, the Goddess herself was absent. The priests ordered the maidens to swear to be loyal to the Goddess of Wisdom.
Most maidens followed the order, yet one of them was in a brown study and she hummed a tune absent-mindedly.
The melody gave Athena a headache upon hearing it, leading her to curse aloud. She could not endure the tune of the evil god under the sea as the godly powers she possessed were unstable because of her birth out of abstract nothingness. She had also become suspicious after all the vain efforts of looking for the Demons over the years.
She decided that the maiden must be associated with the Demons, so she questioned the maiden.
- Athena: Where did you learn this song?
- Athena: I have made a promise with Humans.
- Athena: If you remain silent about where the Demons are,
- Athena: You should know the consequences.
- Maiden: I...
Athena’s voice filled with anger resounded through the temple and stunned the priests. By the time the maiden returned to her senses, she was bound onto the altar by the priests without any opportunity for defense, so she struggled vigorously. Athena, racked with agonizing pain, could barely maintain her sanity. She ordered her priests to leave, and left a mark on the maiden.
【Before Battles】
- Athena: Cunning human, how dare you waste my time.
- Athena: You want my power as well as that of the Demons!
【Enemy Dialog】
- Medusa the Dreaded: It’s...
- Medusa the Dreaded: ...
- Medusa the Dreaded: a song I heard on the sea...
【End】
Athena did not deprive the maiden of her life. She turned the maiden into a winged gorgon, making her stay in the temple as a warning to the residents in the town. When Poseidon learned of this, he launched a destructive raid to Athena’s city, and her followers resisted desperately. Slowly the war spread to the whole realm, the rest of the Gods were also involved in the chaos.
