【Beginning】
To prevent beasts from losing their sanity due to Ancestral Elements, entry of all spiritual beasts into the shrine, with the priestesses and tribal chief the sole exceptions, was forbidden. They thought that this was not only an effective way to protect the Ancestral Elements, but can also prevent harm from coming to the beasts.
But unexpectedly, a white cat still succeeded in stealing pieces of the Ancestral Elements, leaving Shu furious. Shu believed that all was caused by revealing the location of the shrine, where the Ancestral Elements were kept. Therefore, he cast a curse upon the Civilization as punishment...
- Shu: There shall be no more rain here; lakes and rivers shall dry; the earth shall crack; and crops shall shrivel!
Since then, not a drop of rain fell on the land of Spiritual Civilization. The beasts’ lives were on the brink of death. Tefnut could not bear watching the drought and hence, she begged Shu, hoping he would lift the curse.
- Tefnut: Even if your goal is to punish them, it has been quite a long time already. After all, they did not cause the problems.
【Enemy Dialog】
- Tefnut: They have suffered enough. No matter what sins they might have committed, if any, they have already gotten everything they deserve!
- Shu: They have to remember that they have once sinned so unforgivably!
【End】
- Tefnut: If this continues, they will die!
- Shu: If that happens, it is still a fate they deserve!
- Tefnut: Why did you create them in the first place if you do not care whether they live or die?
- Tefnut: How are you different from the horrid Humans if you watch them die? You are cold-blooded like them!
- Shu: You...!
Tears filled Tefnut’s innocent eyes. She knew that the beasts were struggling in pain, and the priestess had been pleaing for Shu’s forgiveness. Shu threw back his head, deeply inhaling; the act brought the winds back to the earth, bringing along with it bands of dark clouds. Upon seeing this, Tefnut understood that Shu had already forgiven them.
- Shu: I have lifted the curse. Leave me alone!
Shu turned and flew back towards the shrine when Tefnut’s face was once again wreathed in smiles. She then conjured her godly power manifesting in the form of water elemental cats. They assembled into dark clouds, prompting rain to fall from the sky. Seeing the soon revitalized and increasingly joyous beasts when they saw long-awaited rain, Shu could not help but smile.
